Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Understanding the Interruption
Why is the tram service suspended between these two stations?
As part of the ongoing development of the tram network in Luxembourg City and efforts to improve sustainable mobility, construction work to connect the first extension to the tram line currently in service will be carried out at the intersection of John F. Kennedy Avenue and Konrad Adenauer Boulevard.
This work will be complemented by the platform for the new tram extension, which will connect it to the existing network and strengthen a seamless, efficient, and user-centered public transportation system.
Q — Will the tram service be completely suspended during this period?
No. The tram continues to run regularly along the rest of the line. Only the section between Rout Bréck–Pafendall and Philharmonie–Mudam is affected. The line operates as two separate sections, and you can continue your journey by walking between the two stations or by taking a bus.
How long will the construction take?
The roadworks take place from 22nd July to 9th August 2026 included, approximatively 18 days. Regular service will resume on the morning of August 10th, 2026.
How far apart are the two stations?
The distance between Philharmonie – Mudam and Rout Bréck – Pafendall is about 450 meters.
